FAQs
SWYMLINE is an interactive virtual swimming and dryland training platform designed to transform indoor swim workouts. By connecting your swim ergometer or smart trainer to the app via Bluetooth, SWYMLINE translates your physical stroke power into a digital avatar. You can race across immersive virtual worlds, track live wattage and pacing metrics, and execute structured workout sets right from home.
SWYMLINE connects seamlessly via Bluetooth to the Vasa Swim Erg with PM3 Power Meter. The app is available for download on iOS (iPad), Android tablets, and Windows PC. (Note: Dedicated ANT+ support for the Vasa is currently in active development, as well as Bluetooth connectivity for the SwimFast Ergo).
We offer flexible options for every athlete, starting with a 30-day free trial so you can test all premium features:
- Monthly Lane Pass: £10 / month (cancel anytime).
- Annual Endurance Pass: Save over monthly billing.
- Lifetime Swymmer Pass: One-time payment for permanent, unlimited access.
Power on your Vasa SwimErg PM3 Power Meter
From the SWYMLINE main dashboard, tap CONNECTION.
Click START SCAN.
Locate Vasa SwimErg in the device list and click the left arrow (<) button.
Once <No Device> changes to Vasa SwimErg, tap the Home icon in the top left corner to return to the dashboard.
During every workout, your live Heads-Up Display (HUD) tracks:
- Power Output: Real-time Mechanical Output in Watts (W).
- Stroke Cadence: Stroke Rate in strokes per minute (/min).
- Pacing: Speed calculated as Pace per 100m.
- Volume & Time: Total move time, current set laps, and total distance in meters.
Critical Swim Speed (CSS) represents your theoretical 1500m race pace threshold. In SWYMLINE, entering your CSS pace per 100m in your PROFILE tab sets the baseline speed of virtual bot swimmers in your session to keep your pacing honest.
If you don't know your CSS:
- Go to WORKOUTS $\rightarrow$ select Level 2.
- Launch the CRITICAL SWIM SPEED workout set.
- Complete the standardized 400m + 200m time trial protocol to automatically establish your target pacing.
Yes! You do not have to finish a full multi-set program to save your data. To end a session early and retain your progress:
- On iPad / Android: Tap the screen with two fingers simultaneously during a workout to open the pause menu, then select END WORKOUT.
- On Windows PC: Press the Space Bar on your keyboard to pause, then select END WORKOUT.
Your partial workout metrics will immediately populate on your SWYM REPORT summary screen.
Select QUICK SWYM directly from the main home dashboard. Quick Swym mode drops you into your chosen environment for an open-ended free swim, allowing you to hop in and out whenever you choose without fixed timers or interval constraints.
Absolutley. During any structured workout set, simply tap the pink Skip Rest button located on the bottom-right HUD box during a rest period to jump directly into your next swim interval.
Tap REPORT on the main dashboard. Using the Date & Time drop-down menu in the top-right corner of the report screen, you can toggle between all your historical swim sessions to track improvements in average power, max power, stroke rate, and 100m pace over time.
This usually happens if your Windows PC is set up for DirectX 11 (DX11) instead of DirectX 12 (DX12).
Our standard PC download is built using DirectX 12 for high-performance graphics. If your computer or graphics card uses DirectX 11, the app won't launch properly and may crash on startup.
How to fix it:
You don't need to upgrade your hardware! Simply download and install our DirectX 11 compatible version:
